ANYHOW, ANYHOW

This was Richard O'Brien's effort at double entendre lyrics.  Is he talking about sex when they say "Some people do it for..." through the song?  It's never really clarified what they're "doing."  In the original script, the town of Denton breaks into the chorus of Denton U.S.A. instead of the "audience."

Brad: Some people do it for compassion
Janet: Some people do it for the fashion
Brad: Some people do it to be funny
Janet: Some people do it for the money
Oliver: Some people do it for enslavement
Betty: Some people do it on the pavement
Oliver: But
Brad, Janet, Oliver, Betty: We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it no matter how the wind is blowing
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it - we just gotta keep going
Brad and Janet: Some people do it for each other
Betty and Oliver: Some people do it for their lover
Brad and Janet: Some people do it for improvement
Betty and Oliver: Some people do it for the movement
Brad and Janet: Some people do it for enjoyment
Betty and Oliver: Some people do it for employment
Oliver: But
Brad, Janet, Oliver, Betty: We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it no matter how the wind is blowing
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it - we just gotta keep going
Audience: Denton, Denton, you've got no pretension
You're where the heart is, you're okay
Denton, Denton, I'd just like to mention
You're the home of youth and you're America's youth
        And you're Denton, Denton USA
Brad, Janet, Oliver, Betty: We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it no matter how the wind is blowing
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it anyhow anyhow
We're gonna do it - we just gotta keep going
        We just gotta keep going
        We just gotta keep going
        We just gotta keep going.
